S Chair No.1 is a furniture design project focused on exploring the creative potential of plywood as the sole construction material. The goal was to design a functional yet visually striking chair using only this versatile medium. To set the piece apart, I introduced an unconventional rear leg design that challenges traditional chair silhouettes, giving the piece a unique sculptural quality. Additionally, I incorporated a carefully designed cutout pattern that creates an optical illusion when viewed from certain angles, adding a dynamic visual element to the form. The result is a minimalist yet bold statement piece that pushes the boundaries of plywood furniture design.
